gif2apng software package provides tool for converting animated GIF images to APNG format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gif2apng
gif2apng is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gif2apng package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gif2apng *
You will get with gif2apng package name, version, architecture and description in a table
